Simon, first of all, a warm welcome as the new Head of Sales and Marketing at H2O! You have been with us since November 1, 2024, and, right from the start, you brought us a wonderful, huge box of candy as a welcome gift. That definitely earned you a lot of goodwill with your new team! Was your favorite candy in there too? Would you care to share this with us?
Simon: Duplo and Knoppers are definitely at the top of the list!
You are physically active. What do you do when you're not playing football or handball?
Simon: In the summer, I love riding my motorcycle, dining out at various restaurants, spending time with friends and family, and I'm looking forward to the upcoming Fasnet and the annual Oktoberfest! :)
Are you more of a coffee person or a tea person?
Simon: Coffee
Office or home office?
Simon: Office
Sales or Marketing? Ok – tough question. In other words, what do you find particularly appealing about your new role as Head of Sales and Marketing?
Simon: Both departments have a direct influence on the entire sales process chain. From the design of marketing campaigns in order to generate the maximum possible number of qualitative inquiries, to the initial customer contact and subsequent project development, right through to the conclusion of the contract. That, in combination with managing people of very diverse characters, makes this position very attractive to me.
In sales, it's ideal to be passionate about what you're selling. What do you appreciate about VACUDEST?
Simon: My previous company was also active in the premium segment, just like H2O. I enjoy the challenge of selling a top premium product in a sometimes difficult market environment and being able to offer the customer significant added value and benefits. The VACUDEST is a technically well-developed product. I particularly like the standardization of the individual product groups. I come from a field where every system is newly engineered – so it's also nice to be able to pull a finished product off the shelf sometimes! :)
What do you want to achieve for H2O in 2025?
Simon: Primarily, I want to maintain a stable order intake at a good level, which will certainly not be easy given the current global challenges and uncertain times. To achieve this, it will certainly be helpful for us to focus even more on our relevant market sectors.
Additionally, I want to encourage each person in my team to approach our customers with justified self-confidence.
If you had a wish for the New Year, what would it be?
Simon: I have the privilege of being healthy and content in what I do every day, both in my personal life and professionally. I just want it to stay that way.
Thank you, Simon. We wish you a smooth transition with us and look forward to an exciting year together in 2025!
