Energy efficiency as standard. H2O relies on the latest motor technology.
Energy consumption has been rising continuously for decades and the trend suggests that further increases can be expected in the future. Industry alone is said to consume around 30 % of the world's available resources - 40 % of which is attributed to the use of electric motors.
Even our VACUDEST vacuum distillation systems cannot operate without electric motors. However, our ultimate goal is to operate the machines as efficiently and resource-efficiently as possible. We have already made great progress to date.
One of the success factors is the switch to the standard use of IE 4 motors. The high-performance motors are characterised by an exceptionally high level of efficiency, which minimises energy losses and thus reduces overall energy consumption. As a result, our VACUDEST vacuum evaporators fulfil today's energy efficiency requirements and even more, also those of the future.
Continuous holistic improvement of our systems, in which the use of this latest motor technology is one of many factors, has noticeably reduced energy consumption in operation since 2019. Our customers benefit from machines that are not only powerful, but can also be operated in a resource-saving and cost-efficient manner. Cost-effectiveness and sustainability are not necessarily adversaries- and this makes wastewater treatment using VACUDEST vacuum distillation systems even more attractive.
In addition, our team is constantly working on optimising the entire system design and operation for maximum efficiency. We invest around one million euros a year in research and development. We are increasingly focussing on innovative technologies and smart control systems to ensure that our VACUDEST systems meet the highest standards in terms of energy efficiency, cost-effectiveness and sustainability. For example, some of our customers are already utilising the excess heat from VACUDEST systems for other internal purposes. The VACUDEST ZLD post-concentrator also utilises the waste heat from the upstream VACUDEST system to further concentrate wastewater without requiring additional energy.
